Hakeem Syed Hameed Saheb
During the Mughal rule in India, the Hakims began experimental research works and altered the system to adapt to the changing climate, the prevalent diseases, and available rich flora of India. Unani medicine has become purely indigenous to India. In the last couple of decades, there has been a great upsurge of Unani medicine, also known as “Alternate Medicine & Therapies” (B.U.M.S), under the patronage of the Government of India.
Hakeem Syed Mustafa Ahmed
In 1865, under the directorship of Hakeem Syed Hameed Saheb, Mustafai Unani Pharmacy was established in his son's name, Hakeem Syed Mustafa Ahmed. After the early death of his father, Hakeem Syed Mustafa Ahmed took the reins of the clinic at the age of 16 and gained popularity. Progressive in thought and enthusiastic in deeds, he was responsible for the Unani and Ayurvedic College and Hospital, along with the women Yateem Khana – or women orphanage – in Mysore, which is in operation till date.
Hakeem Syed Ahmed II
These contributions became a legacy that received patronage by his later generations. His son, Hakeem Syed Ahmed II, raised the benchmarks and popularized the practice with his excellent diagnosis and treatments.

DR. Hakeem Syed Jawad Ahmed
His son, Dr. Hakeem Syed Jawad Ahmed, a versatile genius of his time, is to this day a practicing Unani doctor in Mysore. He was well recognized and awarded a gold medal in 1994 for his excellent contributions and many achievements in the field of Unani Medicine by the Government of India.
Dr. Hakeem Syed Imran Ahmed
The modern touch to the legacy role is being spearheaded by his son, Dr. Hakeem Syed Imran Ahmed, who has stepped up the service levels and branded the legacy to protect the authentic traditional manufacturing and safeguard quality as an entity; to enter new markets and provide this timeless medicinal benefit across India and abroad.
